No code, you can go to Ruger's website and get a year of manufacture for free. There are some colletor books out there that have exact serial number history and Ruger will give you detailed information if you call them.

yes, as said above, maybe someone else has one near in number to yours and they already have the shipping information .....or call the company and ask for "records"....the posted lists of dates is NOT always "right on" and they do not always start /stop at those numbers, nor ship at the same time. They put you in the "year" for the most part on any of the "lists"......
