I have a question. I am appraising a mess of guns for an estate..Mostly milsurp (got to handle my first Type 99 Paratrooper today which was a thrill) and in the midst of all of these sits a mint Ruger Standard 10/22, per serial number I would say about 1968..It appears unfired, walnut stock, etc...What is strange is the serial number has a "D" prefix that appears a little lighter stamped..serial number is D101xxx...
I do not want to underappraise this gun to the guy and right now I am seeing it as a $300+ retail but I want to make sure I am not missing something with the D prefix...Why would there be a letter prefix on a standard 10/22?
