Thanks, never know what kind of experience is out there, but I'm new to this forum and don't know the depth and participation of active members,
Thanks for your advice as a long term member.

True enough.

I'd say there is a vast knowledge base here. And not just about Rugers. But my response was made due to not seeing very much at all about CZ guns ever posted.
Heck,, I shoot USPSA where I see CZ's & I still don't know hardly anything about them.

But Gator89 has offered a thoughtful recommendation.

Both of my carry guns are CZs but I can't give you an educated answer to your question. I'd suggest going over to the original CZ forum and asking there, if you haven't done it already. A lot of CZ knowledge over there.

The 85 has ambidextrous controls, safety and slide release.

Copied from Wikipedia

The CZ 85 was developed because the CZ 75 had no patents protecting the design, and the CZ 75 was copied in other countries with unlicensed versions. The CZ 85B is an up-to-date version with a firing pin block safety, squared off trigger guard, a ring hammer, and tri-dot sights.

I would get the 85 Combat, they don't show up as often.

I have multiple CZ's in the pile, all are steel frame hammer guns.

I have 1 Ruger semi-auto centerfire, it is an LCP.
Ruger rimfire SA's yep, got 'em.

Ruger Revolvers, yep got 'em.
Thanks, for the CZ advice, just what I was looking for. I also have lots of great Rugers, from Lcr's, Lcps, Blackhawks, to 77/22's, PC Carrbines...
I'm just looking for members advice on adding to a collection, it's not for carry or comp. It's for my heirs future disposition.

Once you get past mediocre guns and go into what I consider well made and functional then I often fall back on the looks and so when I opened this thread I was hoping to see a picture of both.....
I looked them both up and like the curved trigger guard on the 85 but not the way the rear adjustable sight looks... and then I read the description of the two and was even more confused.... but that is just me..... both it seems have safeties on them and so I would not get either... but then I'd also choose either over having to drink more of the Glock kool-aid.

Blume, I know you like your Sigs and bet you would like a CZ 75 PCR, it's a DA/SA with a decocker. The CZ 75 P-01 is basically the same as the PCR except it has a rail. Both are considered compacts and have aluminum frames. I have never had a malfunction with either one and they will run with a little dirt and grime on them.

I've never owned a CZ. I do have a friend that has fallen in love with them. I have shot his CZ 75 BD, Shadow 2 Blue, Shadow 2 Compact (I really liked how this one felt in my hand), SP01, & P07. I don't think I've left anything out. They are quality guns. As for which one to buy I have no idea. I have thought about picking up a CZ 75 BD or PCR but it never does seem to quite work out.

Since this is a Ruger forum I will add I own a SR 1911, P944 & a Max-9 in addition to a few other guns.

Thanks for taking the time to check, I went with the 85, what I consider well made and functional. I blessed to have all i need, this just going to my son with the rest when i'm gone.
