Was bored and cleaning out my Photobucket and found these "old" pics of my former P95 that I customized.

Hi John,
Nice work for sure.

So I got an old 95 DC unit and a new railed safe model. I was hoping to pop the DC upper on the stippled and railed frame. I like the feel of the grip with the stippling. But the trigger bar on the safe model goes back in a slot on the frame that does not exist in the DC frame.

So I have two options.
1. Stipple the DC unit.
2. Mod the frame and mill in the slot as required for the trigger bar.

I also have to remove bend and replace the mag release spring. A little weak.

Will you post more detail on how you stippled the frame please. I have copied some of your work already why stop now right?! HAHA

Also why the mag well cut outs? Just because or did you have specific reasoning? My mags drop free and when they don't I know something is wrong.

Hi Roy. That was the very 1st stippling work that I ever did, and it is subpar for sure. I employed the "golf ball dimple method" using a standard soldering iron with a pointed tip. Easy as pie (easiest and ugliest). Plastic Ruger's have Fiberglass in the mix, way different than stippling Glocks. I have been trying to figure out how some people stipple and make it look "factory" and without the "dimples". I bought some brass screws with no slots in the heads of them that fit my wood burning tool, and I'm banging' them with a certain hammer (don't know what you call these hammers that have waffle "texture" on the head) to create a pattern on the brass head, and after experimenting with that, I think I've got it figured out. I'll share pics with my practice with this method at some point. Stop copying my work, or I'm gonna have to sue :D haha.

Mag' Well cutt-outs=pure boredom and a strong desire to "not leave well enough alone" :D just did it for fun and to see if I could pull it off and make it look good. I think I succeeded (not patting myself on the back).

It all looks real well to me. Also when I did the loaded chamber, I didn't counter sink. Just sorta slotted the barrel. So you can't sue. It is a little different. HAHA HA.

And please do post a stippling tread.

If I may ask, where did you get the Ruger grip sleeve? I just bought a P95, and I'd like to have one.

Boy I sure wish that was the real deal. All it is, is a bicycle innertube that I altered in my Paint Program on my computer. Same as the background, it was added in Paint Shop. Sorry 'bout that!

No problem! Very creative...nice looking gun, too.

I just bought a P95, and I'm thinking about a grip sleeve, but I don't want a thick one, like the ones Hogue or Pachmayr make.

Walmart sells an uncle mikes sleeve that is real thin. 10 bucks. There is a smaller and regular one. Probably what you are looking for.
