Credit card 'skimmers'

Help Support Ruger Forum:

You actually have good intentions I think...but are wrong. I'd post the meathead's name (I still remember) but that wouldn't help. He has a reputation. And I didn't scratch the surface because I was the only person that did anything. There's not a whole lot left to do from where I got (not all info posted for obvious reasons) yet there was nothing else done in the case, I confirmed. I did not perceive anything wrong. He did wrong. But I got a case number from him to use at the bank and got my money back. I have not confirmed ANYTHING was done after he actually did file the case.

You are correct, I sincerely have good intentions. I have worked too many of these cases over the years. I hate seeing folks go through it. But, I also know how exhausting these cases can be when you are back logged on them, and other types of investigations and need to prioritize to meet timelines for resolution or be sidelined with others until there is a break. I have been called lazy and told I didn't care in the past. Folks just don't realize what you do for them at times, and fall into a perception. All in the past now for me. I think.

Fwiw: Police found a skimmer on a Casey's gas pump in nearby town (about 90 miles east of st louis). Population about 900 and not in high traffic area.

Very similar to the location(s) chosen to 'skim' around here. Populations of 1000+/- located on primary highways most often with intersecting N-S/E-W highways.

BUSTED
A couple of Hispanic 'dudes' were caught in NE MO after surveillance video captured their vehicle descriptions and license plates. Didn't take long to gather them up.
Guess some Sheriff's are more motivated than others.

Casey's is new to my area. A local couple of stores that change affiliation every time a new deal comes along switched from Lone Star Foods (I think is a small local franchisee) to Casey's.

Yeah I learned about debit cards the hard way after mine got hit for $1000.
Credit card fraud is one of the main reasons that I shut my web store down. I had a fraudulent transaction for $3,700 bucks. I knew it was fraudulent when I saw it. I never shipped product, I was unable to refund the money back to the card so I just had to put it aside and wait for the chargeback to come in.
In the end I still had to pay the card processing fees even though it was a fraudulent transaction.
That was the last straw for me.
