I'm glad to hear (actually read) this as I've been contemplating ordering some .45 Cowboy Special brass. As most of y'all know, I've been toying around with my ".45 XtraShort" and the .45-06 for some time. I shoot these in my Ruger Blackhawk with the .45 ACP cylinder in place. I have made mine from salvaged .45 Colt brass cut to .45 ACP length. As I start with that length there is no problem.
.45-06? Yep, loaded with the 230 gr. RN jacketed bullet, duplicates the .45 Revolver cartridges developed by Frankford Arsenal for the test trials which led to the adoption of the M1911. Both the auto version and revolver version were offered.
