I don't know about that auction,, but Colt hasn't made the "Junior" in MANY years. My mom had a Junior in .22 Short before she passed. My sister now has it. But,, it's not mint or anything. Mom carried her's.
So, maybe there are a couple of potential buyers who really want one.

I remember the time when Colt was selling those. They were reputed to be a Colt marked Spanish made pistol, and some people were suspicious of the quality of Spanish made firearms.

It seems that anything made by Colt is now collectable. Even the things they made that were considered not that great when they were made. I believe it's because Colt isn't an independent company anymore. CZ owns them, I think.

Colt never made them. They were produced in Spain by Astra, marketed by Colt. Late in production, Colt did assemble a few in the US from Spanish-made parts.

Don't know much about the Colt Junior but I have a Colt Model 1908 "vest Pocket" .25cal. Made in 1910 and still shoots fine.
