I don't have the luxury of being able to shoot out the back door of my house and my gun club is 45 minutes away. Gas prices being the way they are and my work hours being cut to 3 days a week make it hard to afford the diesel in my RAM. So I wanted to be able to take my bike and needed something light weight and portable for a target stand. I'm sure there's been many built something like this, and no doubt I probably stole the idea from somebody, but this is what I came up with. Cost less than $4.00

Great idea! Way easier to transport than the one I made using scrap 2x4's. Mine can't be broken down like that. But it was free! Although I can't imagine the materials for that set up are all that expensive. I'll have to see if I can scrounge up some pvc at work now. :p

A nicer target holder, just as easy to transport. ;)

True, but often somewhat uncooperative! :D

My target stand is made of 2x4s, and I still have to put a concrete block on the base to keep the wind from blowing it over. But that's just NW Oklahoma for ya!

Gallatin, right? I saw you today at the range, you were leaving as I arrived and thought howed that guy get all is shooting gear on that bike? I like the target stand, very creative!

Was that you with the youngins shooting a 357 BH? Did you hit that steel turkey @ 100 yards!!?

Yep! That was me, and yes I did hit the steel turkey but don't ask how many times I missed it! I was shooting my .44 Special Lipseys BH.

Damn, I wish I'd have stuck around a little longer :D

Are you the feller they called "Too Tall Paul"?

Papa,
That looks like a good portable stand. Thanks for taking the time to post the information and pictures. A target stand for me needs to be constructed of a sacrificial material as I have occasionally hit the stand. :( That unit uses inexpensive materials and is easy to make.

Hey Paul, Ken Magnus introduced us when I joined the club, and I bought your model 53 from you at one of Pope's shows way back when. I can't thank you enough for that :D :D Good to see you again, almost

Cary, I've made some steel ones, with bullet deflectors, for that very reason, but I knew to be light weight enough to put on the bike, they'd also have to be cheap enough and easy enough to replace. I'm sure I stole this idea from somebody

That's sweet!! I use a Realtor's house for sale sign. The cardboard targets fit prefect and there's hundreds of them around town. :D

I use one very similar, except mine has a piece across the top also. I also don't cut slot in the uprights, I just tape a piece of cardboard to the top and sides. Don't glue any joints, if you do, that will be where your bullet hits.

I too have made a similar model and use 90 degree corners and have a set of replacement sections that I can slide in if and when any part is destroyed. I also use a piece of cardboard and duct tape it to the edges and use 3/4 in clips to hold the targets on.

I like, especially in the winter. I use old realtor signs, but they are tough to stick in the ground in IDAHO NOV THRU MARCH (OR LONGER)
