Friday it was cold and rainy here. What better way to knock the chill out of your bones than with some homemade chili and corn bread.

Here's a 15" Lodge skillet of chili cooking down next to a 10 1/4" skillet of corn bread. One of the finer things in life ! :D :D :D :D

That's not steam coming off that chili, that's the habernaro and red peppers talking :D :D

C,mon jeff I,m putting on weight just looking at your pics great looking chow .

gotta luv that cast iron cookk ware

That chili and cornbread look good enough to eat, but that stuff in the bottle next to it!!??.........no way. That good food deserves a good beer (or should I say a REAL beer).

Yes, I am highly opinionated when it comes to beer. Great pictures of some great cold weather food.

You guys got it all wrong. You'll notice that beer is still capped. It's my decoy beer, for any uninvited guest, or In-laws, that might show up :D . I save the good stuff for myself  .

flatgate, great picture, by the way. You always seem to have the proper picture to pull out of your sleeve :D .

Jeff, Carl's got more stuff up his sleeve than a magician! That chile looks great but just looking at it there might be a little too much gun powder in there for me, I'd eat one small bowl & have the Rocky Mountain Quickstep for 3 days!

Those are a few of My favorite things !!! :D :)

With Lotsa Pepper "smoke" !!

But without the liquid refreshment.

I made me some beef with noodles in our biggest skillet tonight for me and my young 'uns. I'm surprised they didn't lick the skillet clean.
