Can I Tell Age of Gun by Serial #

Hello All, is there a way i can look up the serial # of my gun to see how old it is?
I've had 2 major issues w/ it and it's brand new - trying to determine if it's a very early lot.

Thank you for the quick response - much appreciated.
So the Ruger lookup only says shipped in 2021. I'm trying to find out if it's one of the early builds, as I've had 2 problems w/ it already.

What was the first serial number on Rugers records and what number is yours?
That may be the answer to your question.

However, not sure why it matters. Ruger will likely fix it free. I'd call them on Monday.

What gun do you have and what's the problem? Maybe others here know something but you haven't said enough for others to help.

Looks like Ruger has pulled the pages with the lists of serial numbers by the year for each gun model.

The early model serial number by year is still there, just put in a old model serial number, i.e #12345 and it will pop up.

I use it all the time….

Putting in 12345 I got basically not valid - Then scrolling down there is a link on that page for pre 2000 guns that does show year range by model. That option does not show up until after it rejects a bogus serial number.
