Sorry I guess I wasn't quite clear. I had a .17 ss in blue. I bought the blued M2 cylinder from Brownells or Midway. In order to use them in your gun they may need to have a few thousands of metal removed as they are usually a little long. Thats where the stoning comes in. You could use a whetstone but I used an India stone then finished up with a hard Arkansas. You may not have to do anything it might fit.....
Then I bought a stainless steel hunter in .17. NOT the convertible. The M2 cylinder happens to fit it also. Of course it's blued but truthfully it looks good in the stainless gun.
I still want a stainless M2 cylinder so I'm on the hunt for any stainless cylinder that I will bore, sleeve and rechamber to M2.
I did not have any timing issues in either gun.
