My very first rifle at age 12 was a 10/22 sporter, got it for 139.00 and boy did it shoot. It was stolen when I was 17 and I never replaced it. I was toying with the idea of buying a 10/22 target, then thought to myself...why not build your own rifle. My original budget was going to be about $800.00, well thats out the window now. lol I received the first piece of the puzzle yesterday, a Boyds SS Evolution stock in natural wood colour. Boy is it a pretty stock. I have the action and trigger on order from a company here in Canada. I'm going with the PWS Summit T3 action and trigger, it looks like a Ruger, and is compatible with most Ruger parts including the magazines, but isn't semi-auto. Its a biathalon style action, http://youtu.be/Bsa4bwIOq7w , take a look if your interested. It was a design intended for the lovers of the 10/22 in countries where semi autos are not allowed. My plan is to finish it off with a Kidd barrell and a Luepold Vari-x 3 6.5-20. Then do some serious ammo testing. I'll follow up with some pics as I progress, once I figure out how to post em. lol
