I have the Bisley hammers both large and small in my wish list for when they got back in stock. I checked today and it says they are discontinued and no longer available.

Anybody know whats up with this?

I've seen elsewhere that Ruger isn't selling small parts to outside vendors . . . probably because they are so far behind in production they need all the parts available to complete new guns.

Just what I've heard . . .

Did you order a blued hammer. On my latest blued Blackhawk they used a Stainless trigger and hammer. Looks good and they would have to stock less parts. maybe thats the reason. They dropped them from production to streamline???

For small parts call Ruger-- 603-865-2442 it helps to have the factory part numbers. They may be out of stock but ask to be put on a list and then call back every now and then. It took me a few months to get bisley hammers but I got them.

quote..."Boxhead" Not a big deal. The SBH hammer leaned a bit is superior in function IMO. Took me a bit to realize.

I Fully Agree-Put That One On My Vaquero Also & Love It !

POINT THE MUZZLE THE OTHER WAY!

Good catch Bob.

The Super hammer won't work for me as I want to start out with my 32 mag. I will give Ruger parts a call and see if I can get something set up. If not I have one in my wish list at Midway.

Blued hammers have always cost more than stainless hammers. By using all stainless hammers and triggers, Ruger saves a couple of bucks on every blued gun sold. But if you want blued hammers, many do not realize that stainless can be blued. Several refinishers blue stainless.

I've always been told that stainless couldn't be blued. Would you happen to have a link to some examples as it sounds interesting. I gave up searching for such a thing a few years back. Bluing a stainless gun might be something I'd like to have done one day.

I'm thinking it is simply astreamline thing. Less parts to produce. No biggie to me. Have a couple extras of both sizes anyways. Gotta plan ahead. :)

Midway lists them as "Out of Stock, Backorder OK"

It might be worth a try. But i suspect they just haven't had a recent order for them yet. As soon as they get one, they'll get the "unavailable" message from Ruger and you'll get an email or letter that they were informed by Ruger, "no longer available". Been there done that with Midway.

Nope, I placed a backorder with Midway on the 9th and it still says the same thing. Although the date has been pushed back a couple months.
