i was just cleaning my blue gp100, i noticed that if i shined a light at an angle on the cylinder the fluted areas have a brownish color on them. i haven't shot the gun, i was just checking and reoiling as needed. no other part looks like it. thanks for any help.

it won't come off, the strange thing is if i hold the gun and look directly at the side of it in front of me everything looks blue. if i tilt it side ways at an angle and shine a light at the cylinder the flutes have a brown color on them. sure can't figure it out, but it ain't rust so i stumped.

I'm not real sure either, but it sounds like it might be turning the "plum" color that so many people like.

Not a bad thing, really. It'll add some character to your revolver, and some would probably pay good money to have it appear on their guns.

Now go out and shoot it!

What's it look like if you set it in direct sunlight?
