cabelas only has Lapua .22lr ammo on there shelfs . for 1 500rd brick, 199.99 what the f I bedrockfred will Not buy anything there again!. (edit for spelling, iam so mad, i cant!)

i dont know what Lapua .22lr is? yet! but NO .22LR ammo is worth 199.99 for 500rds! if they had standard maker ammo in stock, i could laugh it off,

Imported match .22 ammo is often well over $10/box.

It is their property, and they can value it however they wish, but whoever's making you buy it... those are the people we need to have a chat with.

who here will buy it! what fool working for cabelas would buy that and stock it when times are what they are? i am shocked!!

That's a pretty decent price for Lapua match ammo. Have you seen the prices on Eley match ammo lately? It's not like they were selling Remington bulk for that price.

That's Olympic grade 22 ammo, up there with all the other $20/50 round ammo like eley tenex. That ain't no bulk plinking ammo, but if you have an anschutz and want one hole groups the price is in line with pre-craziness pricing.

Here's the point, we all know you're gonna pay a premium for Nazi engineering....that's NOT the point, I, like bedrockfred, feel that major chain suppliers should keep that ammo available online, or better yet, don't buy it and hold out or bank pressure on the Thunderbolt and Golden Bullet crap us average Joe's know and love to go out and have good ol American wholesome fun with. I know, there's a group out there that can actually appreciate that Lapua 22 stuff, we just aren't in that group and are a little irritated seeing this stuff fully stocked on the shelves when we feel that there should be a more positive backing from the big chain stores to help get back our stock of plinking ammo....no one will ever get it, probably, we just don't live in that country anymore....unfortunately.

Rant over, it upset me, too, not so much when I saw the price, just when I thought about the potential that Cabelas is more about the dollar than their everyday, blue collar customers.

dont you all get the point? sell it on line! when they put out the Winchester @ 100.00 a brick, thats ok with you? ammo as hard as it is to find, they only have this on the shelf! I think its good match grade shooters 1% of us can buy there 199.99 ammo by walking into cabelas, i bet there is no line!

Was there today....no line, just people walking by laughing, not only at those fully stocked shelves of type O negative Lapua gold, but also at their little 50 round boxes of crap(piles of it, I wish I would have snapped a shot of that, daggummit) for $5.99 + 9.5% sales tax(thx AZ, the illegals couldn't do it without ya)....If I ran a Cabelas I just wouldn't want to look like such a douche for 22 ammo no less....but, "everyone is doin it, right?" Damn sheep, they can keep their wool....gonna need it when the big "O" turns off the heat. I guess we should all be ready AND ok when $18-$28 bottles of just Evian water is on the shelf, in limited supply, with a purchase limit? I got a new pair of whoop ass boots and I'm ready to stand till mowed down....I'd rather jump out of a slow sinking boat in shark infested waters, punch a shark in the nose and take a big ol bite outta one before they get me anyways. :)

For all with expensive tastes and "finer than mine" 22's....go get it men!

That is some expensive stuff. But that is close to regular price for that ammo, not a huge scalping price. With everyone whining for 22 ammo and not being able to find any, at least there is an option for them. Most ma & pa shops have no 2 ammo because they cant get any regular stuff, nor can they afford to stock this expensive stuff. For that reason I applaud Cabela's.
When I built my 22 match rifle, I had to buy quite a few boxes of various match / target ammo to see what it liked. Luckily it likes some of the cheaper (in comparison) Wolf ammo. But it was costly finding that out.

Rumrunner, we ain't griping bout the price, it is what it is for match ammo, just that they can't stock normal guy priced 22ammo or help us fight to get it back in check....instead they lay down and pay a lot to get this stuff up on the shelf....and IOHO....this ain't helping, lol.

I think that most of the people here are missing the main point. This is a nudge to make us have to buy ammo at a steeper price. I understand that Lapua is top grade match ammo but its a slap in the face to those who own a .22 or several and just want to go plinking instead if joining the Olympics.

now some can see whats wrong with what cabelas is doing! i also dont mind how people spend there money! but if your going to sell a 10/22, dont walk me over to the 199.99 dollar .22lr ammo and say sorry but this is what we have! gee thank you cabelas! BOYCOTT CABELAS! __bedrockfred

+1 ^^^ to this and Arizonakid post.

It was curious that this Lapua was on the shelf, then right above....$0.12+ per round in small time 50 pack quantities....like they're saying, "If you don't want the 500 count bricks we have, you can get these for....much, much less...." Curse you snake oil salesmen. No thanks. Got 500 round thunderbolt brick at Sportsman's Warehouse for $28.99, works great in my mkii's and single six....I was born, but not yesterday.

I was at Cabela's in Hammond IN 4 or5 weeks ago and they had just got in a supply of CCI MiniMag 22. Limited to 1 box per customer. When I checked out there was abox on the counter where some one tried to buy 2 boxes. The gal asked if I wanted them. I just told her I had more in my safe then they had on the shelf. Thet were marked $8.99 / 100 pack.

Yes, like you Rumrunner I am well prepared and stocked, just blows that 22 keeps creeping up for reasons that don't relate to workers getting better benefits or wage increases....I am wondering what manufacturing processes exactly are driving any genuine increases....? I call BS on masked "supply vs demand" issue....I can put a bunch of stuff in a warehouse in the sticks, not divulge any info to those who question where it all is, then point fingers....but then I'd be Cabelas, lol.
