Getting anxious about my GP that I'm going to be ordering in a few weeks, saw an ad here in the classifieds for a sweet customized GP that had the Bowen RC rear sight. I looked on bowens site and it didn't say, are these a drop in sight? Or do they need to be gunsmith installed?

They are simply an awesome sight.

Seriously tough construction with amazingly tight tolerances.

I have one with the set screws in one of my GP100s. In three years the sight has not moved, in spite of having carried it in a holster, given it a fair share of shakes and hits, and shot a few thousand heavy .357 mag loads. Dead-set accurate and rugged. Once I had it zeroed-in, I put a drop of blue Loctite in each screw.

I installed it myself, and I'm no gunsmith. Fell right in.

The rough country's are my favorite sight. When locked down, they are like a solid block of steel.I find that the reduce group size slightly compared to factory, due to the slop in the factory sights.
