Several years ago I received a call from a Professional Shooter Dianna Muller, at the time we were both involved in discussions with a producer about a Gun Gal TV Show ( We were both determined to be too booring - they were looking for angst, buildup and a final crescendo of some sort. We are gun people - crecendo's are bad. We want things smooth and moving quietly along)

Anyway - she had this idea of gathering 50 pro gun gals from 50 states to go to DC once a year to talk to our legislators about pro gun topics. We want to show that Gun People come in all shapes and sizes, We want to show that we are not all burly, bearded and wearing plaid.

The new face of the 2nd Amendment wears lipstick...

anyway - this has been a self funded expenditure - so gets taxing for one and all. It is working, it is successful. We are involved with some serious gals including some who are now on the national stage - that were once victims. Nikki Goeser, Kimberly Corbin, Amanda Collins. Professional shooters like Gabby Franco, Becky Yackley, Corinne Mosher and Dianna Muller. Then some regular gals who do pro gun stuff at home - Range Owner Jeanelle Westorm, Cheryl Todd, Holly Sullivan

This is a great opportunity to teach our representatives that we are out there, we are well spoken and vocal. We are being well received in DC - Well enough that I have met personally with Sherrod Brown, Dick Durbin and Beth Duckworth - not fun meetings, but we were heard and we were working toward common ground that we could all agree upon...

and we were with pro gun folks to let them know to keep fighting the fight -that we are behind them, are listening and want them to know that there is support behind them.

Because its pro gun and politics... its hard to get a 501c3 status. so we are doing this on a 'after tax' basis.

I would love to see some of my 2A family send a dollar or 10 to the effort. Know that we will use it wisely and respect the hard work that was behind earning it. Even if you don't have a spare dollar - go to the "go fund me link" and watch the video. Its pretty cool. And then - share it with others that you know that may be in a financial position to help us out a bit.

If and as you donate. Mention the Ruger Forum in the comments. I would love to be able to say that "My friends" donated here...

Much love - Amanda

Someone sent me a very nice PM asking for more information. Stating that I was not sufficiently clear in what we were doing in DC. He said in part, I see the list of names but do not fully understand what your purpose is.... Here is my response. I am sharing it - because if I was not clear for him, I was not clear for others. Thanks for reaching out to ask...

fair enough. and no, just name dropping is not enough.

The Go Fund Me explains it pretty well - if you clicked on that and watched the video. If not , I suggest you do. a documentary crew followed us last year and gave us this. showing what our mission is / was /will be.

In total - we are a group - cross country, and cross a few other political lines including members of the liberal gun club of america ( before this I was not sure that was even a thing) that goes in and talks guns, pro 2A with our legislatures. We are known by - but not working with - the NRA, The NSSF, Buckeye Firearms ( here in Ohio) and some other organizations.

Our mission is to personalize the second amendment with well spoken thoughts and pleasant demeaner. we want them to know that women (voters) also care about the 2nd Amendment. They say for every person that writes - 100 feel that way. For every person that goes into the office - 1000 people feel that way. for every person that travels to the capital - 10,000 people feel that way. So in effect , we are motivating our representatives to see 50,000 pro gun people on their front step.

We go to the meetings with a team of 5 gals. so that is where the 50,000 came from. or at the Rally on Friday - 50 women, representing for 10,000 pro gun votes is a rally that speaks for 500,000. and we are opening it to the public to see who comes. Last year we had Dick Heller attend too. ( but that is another name to drop.)

thanks for even considering my request. I appreciate the consideration and the follow through.

Amanda

Do you know how pleased I am to see the go fund me page that all 50 women share and to see names I know and a shout out to the RugerForum.com family. Thanks much for your generosity...

If we make it a sticky it will get ignored with the rest of them.

I agree - folks pass through the sticky's to get to the moving things. Will prefer to let this boop a bit and then fade away. I am grateful for all the support. and the views, and the questions and the telling other people about the DC Project.
