Several years ago I received a call from a Professional Shooter Dianna Muller, at the time we were both involved in discussions with a producer about a Gun Gal TV Show ( We were both determined to be too booring - they were looking for angst, buildup and a final crescendo of some sort. We are gun people - crecendo's are bad. We want things smooth and moving quietly along)
Anyway - she had this idea of gathering 50 pro gun gals from 50 states to go to DC once a year to talk to our legislators about pro gun topics. We want to show that Gun People come in all shapes and sizes, We want to show that we are not all burly, bearded and wearing plaid.
The new face of the 2nd Amendment wears lipstick...
anyway - this has been a self funded expenditure - so gets taxing for one and all. It is working, it is successful. We are involved with some serious gals including some who are now on the national stage - that were once victims. Nikki Goeser, Kimberly Corbin, Amanda Collins. Professional shooters like Gabby Franco, Becky Yackley, Corinne Mosher and Dianna Muller. Then some regular gals who do pro gun stuff at home - Range Owner Jeanelle Westorm, Cheryl Todd, Holly Sullivan
This is a great opportunity to teach our representatives that we are out there, we are well spoken and vocal. We are being well received in DC - Well enough that I have met personally with Sherrod Brown, Dick Durbin and Beth Duckworth - not fun meetings, but we were heard and we were working toward common ground that we could all agree upon...
and we were with pro gun folks to let them know to keep fighting the fight -that we are behind them, are listening and want them to know that there is support behind them.
Because its pro gun and politics... its hard to get a 501c3 status. so we are doing this on a 'after tax' basis.
I would love to see some of my 2A family send a dollar or 10 to the effort. Know that we will use it wisely and respect the hard work that was behind earning it. Even if you don't have a spare dollar - go to the "go fund me link" and watch the video. Its pretty cool. And then - share it with others that you know that may be in a financial position to help us out a bit.
If and as you donate. Mention the Ruger Forum in the comments. I would love to be able to say that "My friends" donated here...
Much love - Amanda
