And sir, it should be a fave. All the purple with box & shipper. I once witnessed a few in the low 50's of s/n's sell at an auction & it was a sporting event for sure. A beautiful piece.
Thank you.
If that auction was in Corinth KY in 2013, you watched this one get sold!
I was not there, but have since became the next caretaker of several that were sold that day.

That be the one. Glad to see it again. A small world.
I was incorrect about the #59 Blackhawk 357

Started a new thread with info about the Corinth KY auction in Nov 2013

I stand corrected…it was EC Barrel Proof @ 130.6 proof I was sipping on FRI night. My last of three bottles. Usually keep one unopened on hand until I find more but decided to open it.

Ah, B524. According to my bourbon spreadsheet, I have six bottles of that squirreled away, but I've never opened one.

When I was on my booze run last week, I saw a bottle of C924 still sitting on the shelf from last year, but I didn't buy it (I have 3 of those), instead going for an EHT rye and an Elmer. That was a good day. Sometimes I go a couple months without finding any allocated stuff except Buffalo and Eagle. Which is fine, since I mostly drink Eagle.

I have one unopened bottle of Eagle Rare.....and one half bottle of Buffalo Trace.....hard to come by in my neck of the woods. If you find it, it's pricey.

We have state-run liquor stores here, the benefit of which is that everything must be sold at list price, so Buffalo is $24.99 and Eagle is $39.99. I know it gets jacked up in other places, including Tennessee where we intend to relocate, so I've been trying to hoard as much good stuff as I can find beforehand 😁

But the super rare stuff like Pappy gets raffled with ticket sale proceeds going to charity. I've never won a raffle, which entitles you to purchase the bottle at list price, but I've entered several over the years. I did bump into a guy at the liquor store a few years ago who owns a bar and was there to pick up two bottles of Pappy 12 (or maybe 10?) that he won in the raffle. I think he was paying $179 per bottle and said he sells shots for $40 when he has it, but he had been told that he should ask $100/shot.

Yep that's what I pay when we visit KY and stock up. I'm dangerously low right now so need to make another Bourbon Trail sun in late Spring.

Just to get the thread back towards the rails, I currently have a 45 and a 357 Blackhawk cylinder sitting on the table ready to pack.....just happens to be sitting next to bottles of Russell's Reserve and Rare Breed. ;)
