I have a copy of the Encyclopedia of Modern Firearms by Bob Brownell. It states that (old model) blackhawk (357 and 44) triggers are interchangeable with (old model) single sixes. The copyright is 1966, so old models were new back then.

If I Remember Correctly...... ................

Ruger's Old Army uses a stronger mainspring than what is used on the other Sturm, Ruger & Co. Single-Action Revolvers.
I have that particular mainspring installed on the vast majority of "big bore's" in my "shooter" pile. It ain't no big thing, neither.......... :D
