Blackhawk and Jet crash in Potomac River

Help Support Ruger Forum:

Just watched another video of the crash from a different angle. Almost appears an elevation rise at the last couple of seconds. Maybe the chopper pilot tried to pull up to avoid it. All different scenarios will be checked out. All would of, could of, and should of will be investigated.. in the mean time, pray for the families who lost there loved ones.
Real early on, it was reported the 'hawk went from 200 to 350 or so ft at the last moment, and i never heard it mentioned again.
Not being glued to the news, you understand, and i dont sleep to it; one can get some crazy stories that way!

Well somebody's wrong, unless they decided to shoot it down in the last minute instead of running into it

fwiw, i did mention this was from the bbc..."consider the source".

At this point in time, I'm betting the commercial plane was exactly where the ATC instructed. JMHO We'll see.
That close to landing of course the plane was exactly where it was instructed and needed to be to land.
We have a second home in Kiowa, KS and a beautiful couple living south of us on the same street, on the KS/OK border line road were on that plane going to see their daughter. He was a very successful farmer, rancher, and philanthropist.
Bob & Lora Schrock will be greatly missed.
Funeral is Saturday, being held in the high school gym as so many will be there. We head back down tomorrow, Saturday, and will attend.

In the 60's there was a movie, The Crowded Sky. It pointed out that our airways were congested and even minor malfunctions could cause collisions. Today, even with the advancement in ATC radar things aren't really any better because there is just so much more air traffic. Sad to say, things like this will continue to happen whether by human error or equipment failure. But, as tragic as these events are, considering the air miles traveled the ATC folks and air crews do one heck of a job.
