Blackhawk 357 maximum

Help Support Ruger Forum:

The 10.5 is the scarcer, but I don't know why. According to RENE if I read correctly, 4670 of the BNM-7 and 4577 of BNM-10
What are they asking? I might want the leftovers

Edit to add my reading skills seem lacking as those reported numbers were thru 1983 and does not include full production. Read the sticky above by Coogs for more info from our resident maxie expert.

The Max is an offering in need of a resurrection. But, since Ruger is basically operated & controlled by it's legal department...Will never happen. 😕

Due to the production numbers being close to each other, most of us don't consider either one rarer than the other. What we do consider is how we plan to use it, and buy accordingly.
If it were me, I'd buy both, and then decide which one I prefer to keep, IF, IF, I HAD to sell one.
But when I buy something like that, I have no plans to sell.

I'm with Contender. If you can afford both, get both, you probably won't sell either once you have them. (I know I wouldn't)

I'm primarily a DA collector, but when a customer of mine had one (7 1/2") he wanted me to sell for him (probably well less than a box shot through it, no turn line), I told him for the right price I'd buy it right then and there. He is a long time customer and he made me a very, very fair offer and I paid him on the spot. People say I stole it from him :D but he was the one who priced it.

I've got one of each length. Original boxes even...................Couldn't tell you which one shoots better

many years ago at the Monroeville, PA., RCA show we talked with one of the gunsmiths that was hired in Southport to cut up those "left over"?? scrapped?? frames, what a shame...oh well,,,, we did not make any pen holders out of the scrap parts.....;)
Thanks for the explanation 👍
