not with all the trouble they are having getting the .327 to work. would like to see a smaller frame 32 mag though in the vaquero or bisley format. they used to make one.

I had John Gallagher convert a 32 H&R Mag single six bisley into a 327 Federal and I love it. He mentioned he did have to rechamber the pilot holes in the new cylinder in 2 steps to get it but well worth the effort. Here are a couple of "teasers' of what the longer cylinder in the 327 bisley looks like. :)

My Alan Harton Custom Single Six exits a 118 grain
LBT GC at 1550 fps. If you want what a 327 can do
a custom is the only way to get there. Mine is slick
and superbly accurate.

If you mean the Bilsey-gripped Single Six, then I'm all for it.

IMO, the 327 Federal is what 32 H&R mag should have been from the start. I don't know how anyone can even name a cartridge a "magnum" with a SAAMI pressure limit of 21,000 cup.

Doug, I hear you but I've enjoyed all mine immensely anyway, starting with being one of the first true believers in 1984 with a nice 5.5", and later getting hooked on the Vaquerito variants..and I don't even reload. I know its taken them awhile--with years of gun rag and other bigger-is-better crowd naysaying--but now we have the best of both worlds with the two: the "44 Special and Mag" of the .32 world.

The original Federal jhps are at least ok--and my first impression, which continues today of the little .32, was/is really decent pop and that "you sure know it ain't no .22--anything"...and so much more pleasant (I didn't say as cheap) to shoot than an afternoon's worth of .38s. I really like the Georgia Arms 100 gr JHP..in the SSs as well as the little Smith.

Well, when compared to the .32 S&W Long, it is a magnum of sorts I suppose. Either way its a great cartridge to shoot and handload for.

I would be very interested in one chambered for .327 Fed, but at the same time I'd be happy with one in .32 H&R also.

Don't get me wrong. I love the 32 H&R, I just think of it as more of a "special" cartridge than a magnum. I actually prefer the 32 H&R to 38 Special.

I converted a stainless Blackhawk to 327 Federal. As handy as the Single-Six is, you can really push pressure in a full-size New Model.

I wish I had half your talent, and even a third of your tools. :)

I appreciate the kind words. Whatever talent I have though was handed down from my dad....he taught me everything I know about gunsmithing.

BTW, here's the conversion I referred to above (well sort of). The cylinder in the gun is in 32 Martin Meteor. I later built a second one in 327 Federal:

The 327 sees way more range time of the two. Pretty much like a 32-20 in a full-size revolver.

I love the idea of a .327--plowhandle and Bisley--in the mid frame (50th Ann 357/New Vaquero/Lipseys), including a .32-20/.327 convertible. Make mine a 4-5/8 though to keep the weight down!

Does it require a new cylinder to do the conversion on a single six?

I am quite pleased with my aluminum grip framed 32 H&R Single Six's just as they are. I unloaded the 32 Bisley I had as I did not like the balance with that heavy grip frame on the tidy little gun. Is the brass situation getting better with the 327?
