Do any of you folks have any experience with the Cimarron Badboy? How does it compare to the Ruger BH or SBH? Looking for a new new open sight hunting handgun and like the looks of the octagon barrel. Thanks

Well I have Cimarron single actions and handled many more of them, but I mostly own Rugers and Colts. So the Cimarrons must be very close or equal, otherwise I won't accept them.

I haven't handled the Bad Boy. However, I would trust anything from Mike Harvey to be top quality. Being made by Uberti for Cimarron is the key. Because the quality standards are specified by Mike and he insists on the best Uberti can produce. Uberti will produce guns to whatever price point the importer wants. So those made for Mike I've been very happy with.

With it's unique retracting firing pin, it has the ability to load and carry a full cyl safely without a transfer bar. And except for the missing (and worthless) safety notch on the hammer, it has a traditional single action lockwork.
