I have a JT 475L that I want to have a set of grips made for. The pics above are with a panel from a SBH. A bit small on the front as you can see and long on the bottom. Can or has anyone here made a set? I would like a set made and would ship the frame for fitting. Also, I would like them to have the profile of the grips shown below. Standard thickness at the top and thin(1/4' or less) the rest of the way down. In walnut of course :D

I have made grips for several single actions other then rugers. If you would send the frame I couls make them for $65 shipped. I have over 200 different wood sbut I think nicly figured walnut would look very nice on the stainless gun. Steve

I would recommend a a little remedial work on the gripframe before sending it off. If yours is anything like mine are, the external surfaces (those that you grip with the grip on, are at a perfect 90 degress to the flats of the grip frame. If you notice on your ruger, the backstrap\frontstrap have a little arch to them which keeps you from having a half inch wide flat spot that smacks into your hand.

Hope my description is clear enough for you to evaluate yours.

I see what you are saying about the flats. May have to start drinking heavily to get up the nerve to attempt that. 8)

What method did you use to round yours?

Woodpile, would you be able to somewhat match the contour of the grips shown on the New Vaquero?
