Best Scrooge movie?

Which version of Scrooge movie is the best? This story always has been about repentance and loving others. Charles Dickens wrote from experience because as a child he was forced to work slave-labor. This version from 2019 by the BBC takes some liberty with the story, and is very dark, but gives some possible context for the story.

I don't have time to watch it now, but I clicked through it real quick, and it seems awful dark, and by dark I don't mean the mood or storyline of the movie; I mean it looks like most of the scenes are so dimly lit that you can hardly see what's going on. I hate when they do that to a movie.

The 1970's version "Scrooge" with Albert Finney as Ebenezer Scrooge is my favorite. It's a musical but very entertaining and funny!

We watched "Scrooged" last night. Not a bad comedic take on the classic story. Bill Murray, Karen Allen, Robert Mitchum and a few others. 1986.

My 1st wife and I used to watch the 1951 Alistair Sim version every Christmas season at least once. She had it on VHS tape and I had 27 Christmases with her.

We are the same, the 1951 version is the best, but The Muppet Christmas Carol is a fun one and Michael Caine was great in it. A little more of a fun one but still a fine telling.

Simply "Scrooge" from 1951 with Alistair Sim. The worst is the FX "A Christmas Carol" Way too dark and creepy.
