Good info above and I agree with 'am' gun needs a GOOD cleaning, lots of gunk, stuff in the nooks and crannies.
Remove the grips and give it a good soaking in something like plain kerosene, over night, brush it off or blow it out with an air hose ( low pressure) lube it up with whatever lube works for you, we ALL have our favorites, but no need to go out and buy anything else or different.......we like and use 'RIG' on all the outside of the guns, works on wood,metal and plastic, have NOT had a single gun rust in any way for us, ever, over 60 years.......
