My first knowledge of the Hip Grip was in the 1980s when I was first hired as a deputy sheriff. The Sheriff was occasionally on duty by himself during the day and when he had to respond to a call would withdraw a chief's special from his desk. it was equipped with a hip grip so he could stick it in his waistband and head out to take the call. His handcuffs always rode on the handle of his spotlight. While I always wore a duty belt with my gear, I remembered that and always kept a second set of handcuffs on my spotlight handle. I would have bought a hip grip for off duty use but they never seem to have made one for Rugers.

SPF to Joe. They are quite a neat idea for slipping on your roscoe for a walk down to the mailbox, etc.
