Looks like they are going after their knives in London now to stop stabbings.

Several years ago I talked to a Swedish or Norwegian lady, I cant remember which. She told me they don't allow anyone to carry knives in crowds etc. as they consider them dangerous weapons. She said the only way you could carry a pocket knife even was to have a need for a knife in your duties. Something like a sailor, fisherman butcher etc.
The main thing is in Europe in general you have no individual right of self defense where weapons are concerned. If I lived there I would have to carry a blackthorn walking stick with a doctors note I guess. No way I would agree to be totally defenseless.

I would do the same, except carry a curved-handle solid hickory cane. I've picked up a couple of nice ones at yard sales.

Looks like pretty soon they'll be needing this. Monty Python defending yourself.

Hey London. Thanks so much for proving the point that if you take guns away people they will still find a way to kill each other. Appreciate it.

I have one I picked up in Ireland.
Very nice piece of craftsmanship.
It's a good practical walking stick and that big ol'
knob on top would makes a nice head thonker.

I got to thinking if they ban kitchen knives how the heck will you cut your steak?
Or will steak houses make you show a knife owners registration card to make sure you are mentally stable and fit to operate one?

What are they going to do when someone figures out that you can kill someone with a sharp stick, or a dull baseball bat (or a cricket bat) or a common rock or a brick. Then someone will get killed with someone's bare hands and all hell will break loose and they will have to ban people.

I believe I mentioned in a similar post about rocks being the original assault weapons. Remember Cain & Abel? Wonder if they will get banned too?

Once again, stupidity reigns supreme. Instead of fixing the problem, they want to ban an inanimate object.

I guess all of Europe has forgotten WWII & how US CITIZENS sent firearms to help them fight the war. PRIVATE citizens GAVE away firearms to help fight a war.

It's merely politicians trying to get the votes from their somewhat ignorant constituents; nothing serious. Hell, knives longer than 3 or 4 fingers (?) (and automatic knives) have been banned (for carry) in the 5 boroughs of NYC since (approx) 1957..... guns even longer. Come visit, we'll go for a ride on the subway... !!!
