A friend was working for Pontiac's ad agency in the 1980s. Hollywood called and wanted a few new Firebirds for a new show. He got sent to the meeting with strict instructions not to give any cars away (Pontiac was having some lean times). He got back and told them I gave them 8 cars. When the furor died down and he explained that the car was the show his job was safe as long as it sold cars. With sales through the roof he looked like a hero when Knight Rider hit the small screen. In the end I think they used nearly 20 cars.
