We buy Log Cabin Lite because our grandkids are used to it and don't seem to like anything else. (I bought some real maple syrup awhile ago and they all said that they hated the taste. I guess sugar and who knows what else is what they like because what comes in the bottle sure isn't maple syrup). To my knowledge, no one has found a reason to find Log Cabin offensive but I'm sure someone will come up with something. Maybe implying that it was made by slaves who had to live in a primitive log cabin while the slave owner lived in a shiny white mansion on the hill.

I'm sure Famous Amos and Levi Stubbs are on the hit list as well. Even though they're real people who started successful businesses from nothing. The cancel culture hates anyone who's created a business that works.

The cancel culture is , like their Socialist inspiration, incapable of creating anything that works, has popular appeal, and lasts. Look at the failure of Air America. They can only destroy.

Am I a racist? I have fond memories of "Sambo's Pancake House" in Fridley Minn. Not sure but I think they "evolved" into IHOP. As for syrup, I pull mine out of the trees every spring.

If Aunt Jemima is being laid rest at age 132 and the Indian Maiden taken off Land-O-Lakes butter who is going to be next? Has anybody seen Uncle Ben's in the store lately? Charley the tuna must have taken his last dive a long time ago also. :D :D
I am waiting for them to eliminate the black lady that advertises Pine Sol because there are some that would say she represents the "da cleanin lady".

Virtue signaling is all it is.
Pearl milling is also donating $1,000,000 to empower black girls and women. Not a bad thing in itself, but the timing is suspect.
They just discovered there are black females?

It's all just a big marketing plot. The early announcement of the new packaging that won't actually be on the shelves 'til June or thereafter is just to get us all to race out and buy up all the existing product as VERY RARE COLLECTOR'S items!

Brand names are fun, but don't necessarily guarantee superior quality. At one social gathering I made the popcorn. The old fashioned way. Everyone praised it, said how good it was. I used store brand corn and oil. When I make pancakes for a church breakfast it's a store brand. When they are icy cold off brand sodas taste mighty good on a boiling hot day.
It's like the people who finally got Amos and Andytaken off the air in 1960. They don't realize it set the pattern for that type of sitcom. The Honeymooners
is Amos and Andyin whiteface.

my wifes mother had a mammie/nannie/maid, in the house growing up in the 50-60's in ark. go figure. im told when times were tough, mammie didn't mind mothers paycheck every week for honest work. there were no color boundries when it came to greenbacks for work in that house.

I have an old 70's AJ pancake bottle in the cupboard. im going to fill with some other brand and keep using it for flapjacks.

Surprising no one has gone after the Vermont Maid or the Sun Maid Raisins girl for perpetuating racial and ethnic stereotypes, the idea that only white women are attractive. Bruce Lee remains the idol of martial arts students.
One of the quirks of my school days 1954-1967 was that I had only one black teacher. My senior year of high school-my German III teacher, Frau Doktor Eliis.

I have been having trouble finding Dixie Boy and Black Cat firecrackers lately. I have one 2200 round brick of Black Cats left that I bought about 25 years ago on a indian reservation, Opps, Native American neighborhood.

I went to Middle School in Napa California during the 1960's where there was only one black student, a girl. In 3 years nobody ever saw her. She was in the school yearbook every year. Years later I found our her and her family only lived 4 blocks from me. Napa was a very white town.

Political correctness strikes again. Screw it, we use nothing good ole 100% Vermont Maple Syrup in this house. That is until the lunatic left bans that because its makes the trees cry to extract the sap.
