Went to a local auction last Friday. The catalog contained an unusual number of Ruger handguns. For your information, here are the results:

1) NM Blackhawk, blue, .30 Carbine, 7 1/2" barrel, Liberty Edition, with boxes, papers, s/n 51-08XXX, 98%, $400
2) NM Blackhawk, blue, .41 Mag, 6 1/2" barrel, Liberty Edition, no box, s/n 41-08XXX, 98%, $400
3) Old Army, stainless steel, 7 1/2" barrel, Liberty Edition, with boxes, papers, s/n 7XXX, NIB, $275
4) NM Blackhawk convertible, blue, .44Mag/.44-40, 7 1/2" barrel, with boxes, papers, s/n 87-008XX, 100%, $500
5) NM Blackhawk convertible, blue, .38-40Win/10mm, 6 1/2" barrel, with boxes, papers, s/n 611-02XXX, 100%, $450
6) NM Blackhawk convertible, blue, .32-20Win/.32 H&R Mag, 6 1/2" barrel, with boxes, papers, s/n 610-02XXX (same as above), 100%, $400
7) Mk II, blue, .22LR, 4 1/2" barrel, with box, s/n 19-45XXX, 98%, $250.

Just curious . . . did the same buyer pick up all three of the Blackhawk convertibles? That would make a nice set.

No. Two different buyers - one guy got the first one and the other got the second two.

Yep those were some good buys on the convertibles
and a steal on the Liberty Old Army!! JMHO

No kidding. I've "almost" owned one of those a couple of times now, but put it off due to the price (but they're oh so much nicer than the imports). If someone waved one under my nose for $275 I'd own a BP revolver.

Yeah, the trouble is when any "extra" folks show up ( all it takes is two really..) the bidding goes UP accordingly....... :roll:

No buyer's premium, just 6% MI sales tax. Cash or check only, no plastic. This is a guns (and gun related equipment) only auction held every 3 months. He usually has between 150 and 200 guns of all types. He's very good and very honest. He knows the guns and expects you to know what you're bidding on.

That was a great deal on the 38.40 and the 32.20 as well!! The LGS in San Antonio had those prices as a set at $1400.00. They were on consignment and eventually sold.

Good prices on desirable guns. I know of very few auction houses in my area that offer more than the occasional gun in a general auction. Most of those are lower end .22s and single barrel shotguns. They often sell for more than you can buy the same gun at WalMart on the same day. :?
