I still need to resand and apply several more coats of Tru Oil. Gripmaking without a belt or disk sander is for the birds :?
I may end up taking out the hump at the top of the grip. I was attempting the gunfighter profile. Not perfect by any means, but much better than the Goodyears it came with.

They look good....and a nice piece of wood too. I've toyed with doing a set of "gunfighter" profile grips for a cpl of mine, but haven't gotten around to it so far. Rodfac

I doubt I will build a set again. The custom grip makers out there are an excellent value when you consider the time invovled and the quality of the finished product. Wood grips for the BFR are simply not avaliable unless you get the butt ugly finger grooved ones that BFR sells. I would have had a set built, but dad had the wood from a knife handle kit and I bought a Craftsman scroll at a yard sale for $10. My dealer had screw kits from buying another dealer out years ago..... So I guess I have nothing in them but time. FWIW, Ebay has the same wood with most sets selling for $5 or so, and you can get two sets of grips from it.
