Thinking of buying one of these stock conversions for my mini-14 tactical and would like to hear from people who own or have used one.
Pros? Cons?
Thanks

I bought one for my Mini 14 tactical that has the flash hider and it worked out ok. It is a lot easier to carry using the side mounted sling set up. Have a good day, Gary. :)

I got one of these on my mini-14 tactical, and it's a nice stock. Folds easily, but locks up securely, the collapsible stock works well. Very sturdy, very easy to install/remove rails and sling mounts. As said, it's much easier and more comfortable to carry with the sling on the side.

The one thing that I do not like about it is that the pistol grip and finger grooves are too low in relation to the trigger. If I have my hand resting in the finger grooves, I have to reach too high to put my finger on the trigger. I ended up sliding my hand up higher, so that my middle finger wasn't in a finger groove, but resting just below the trigger guard. Other than that, I like it a lot.

Well, so far I consider it a waste of money: Everything about the assembly went well - until the most crucial part.
I can not get the trigger group to fit into the ATI stock. It's not me: it went back into the Ruger stock just fine when I finally gave up on the ATI.
Any suggestions? Any trick I should know about?
Keep in mind that I bought this under the belief and promise that no gunsmithing was required.

A "Google" search found these two comments. I have no idea if either will help.

The trigger assembly was a bear to get back in. I finally realized that if you lower the rear of the assembly in first, it goes much easier.

I had to work at getting the trigger group into the stock and finally removed the "pistol grip" to get it in.

It is a pain to get it in there. It will take some finagling, you have to really push the trigger group towards the pistol grip to get it to line up, and then push/wiggle to get it in. If you try going at an angle, with the forward part pushed in first, the rear of the trigger guard will never clear the pistol grip. I tried putting the rear in first as well, but couldn't get it to line up right. Once you get it in the first time, successive tries will be easier, at least that was my experience.

Finally got it all together. Thanks to all those who agvised me to persevere and to just keep wiggling it until it went in.

Hmmm... Seems I got that same advice once before, but on a different subject...

Took the mini-14 with ATI stock to the range about two weeks ago. With no adjustments to the length of the stock I found it comfortable right out of the box.
Time will tell whether it improves my shooting or just looks b-tchin'.
