hello! FIRST POST So I live in Gun Friendly and of course Ruger friendly Northern Arizona. I bough twin Ruger 10/22 bells and whistles Tactical. I put them on layway last May and haven't seen hide nor hair since i picked them up yesterday. I think they are wonderful! I went to sight down one and.....no sights! No provision for sights! ...um problem! So I came here to see what to do and what thsi is aboout. Would enjoy intelligent discussion of this design. Know that i am young to guns and dont know a whole lot.
I love Ruger firearms. I have an SP 101 in 22 LR which is tits and a Ruger 10/22 which is stainless but with a non laminate walnut stock...a good one too that goes all the way to the end of the barrel! Expecting an SP101 in 9mm Parabellum which was my first Gunbroker auction win (noone else even bid on it). this is my holy grail weapon! SO yes I am very happy to be on your forum! Just dont know how to enjoy and fire my tactical 10/22 twins. I wish I was savvy enough to post pics

Lots of people go straight to optical sights and never use irons.

The 10/22s you bought are intended for optical sights, added by the user. Some like red-dot sights (TruGlo is one economy brand I've had good service from), other like the magnification of a conventional scope.

:D Hi Sunfish,
Since you have a pair of these beauties I would outfit one with a red dot sight for close range and off hand shooting at moving targets. The second one I would put the best 3-9 variable power scope on I could afford. At 3 power you have enough field of view for quick offhand shots, and 9 power is really all the magnification you need for any reasonable .22 shots. I really like the red dots for quick shots and they work great on pistols too.
Cape Cod Terry :D

Since you had the rifles on layaway I'm making an assumption of limited resources.... So, I would just get a cheap red dot for one of them first... long term I would consider really good red dot for one and a actual tactical scope for the other.... 1-4x possibly.

It would be nice to have Iron sights on one but I'm not sure the ATI stock has that option..... then again keep in mind the actual rifle is the receiver and the chances are things will be changed out on them...

I tried to look up what you got via google and am not quite sure.... do you have a link to the rifles you have or pictures?

Ruger 10/22RBD-FS is the model. I have saved pics to my computer but I don't know how to get them to this posts
