My wife gave me a Finnish Valmet "Leijona" (Lion) 12 guage O/U back in 1987 after I'd sold all my nice shotguns to help finance a new house a couple of years before (she knew I loved Valmets, and had cashed in a couple).

As well as having the most beautiful red/black walnut of any of my factory guns except my Ruger 1A .243, it started to "go plum" a couple of years after I got it. By now it has fully ripened to the shade of a perfectly ripe Santa Rosa plum. Delicious--wish I were smart enough to show a pic!
