Not yet here in west central IL. But today the wife planted milk weed and other plants known to attract them. We’ve got several that visit here every summer. Got my old cast iron bird bath out for them today too. Always set it up near the plants they like.

Saw the first on here yesterday, outside my living room window & searching for the feeders...Which were promptly put out this morning.

We normally have dozens by now but so far only have one. I think the late winter storms and delayed cold weather have pushed their migration back a little

Haint seed the hummingbirds yet, nor the swallows.

But, I've seen a couple birds I've never seen here before. An all-blue sparrow-sized bird, and a gold crowned sparrow.

No humming birds, but the carpenter bees are back in force. In the past, I spent many entertaining hours smashing them with a badminton racquet. Between the bum shoulder and walking cane I'm not going to play that tournament this year.

Living in northern Illinois, about 85 miles west of Chicago, we had hummingbirds show up about May 1st last year, but nothing yet this year. I was wondering if any Midwesterners have seen them yet this year.
Chesterfield Missouri here. Just saw our first yesterday!! They are moving up your way.

Not mid west but southern Nevada. They spent the winter in my yard. Lots of them. Several different types. Big and tiny. Some stay all year but there are less now. Headed back to you. The feeder is on my deck. If the door is open they come in and watch TV with me. He likes Animal Planet. They have no fear. Very first time I put out a feeder I thought it would take a few days for them to find it. Nope! Before I could finish hanging it he was already 2' from my face wanting a drink. They will line up like at the gas station and fight if one gets too pushy. I kept them fat all winter. They are headed your way now. I found how to make the food at the Smithsonian Zoo page. 4 cups water,1 cup white table sugar. Boil, cool, then keep in the fridge. They say no need for the red stuff.
