Anyone Rebore Tang Safety 77?

I've got an African in 9.3x62. It's a nice rifle and I really like it. But I really love the old tang safety models. I have a battery of them that I've put together over the last forty years. They are all MOA guns, with the right ammo. If there was a way, I'd have a tang safety put on my 77/22 (wish it could be done)! But being one to never let things alone, I've thought about getting an RS model tang safety in 06 length and getting it rebored to 9.3x62, or a 338 WM and rebore to 375 Ruger. Has anyone done this, or rebored one of those Wilson barrels. I'd be interested what you learned and the results.
Thanks

I'll give you a bump on your question. I personally have not done the re-bore option, but I have modified some M77 rifles to different calibers.

I also really like the tang safety M77 so I understand your wishes for the different caliber options in the old rifles. I have considered the rebore option on tang safety rifles but I have ended up going with a new barrel each time. I do have an extra M77 RS in 30-06 which I will modify some day and it may well be a rebore to something "interesting"...

This was discussed a bit when the thread on the No. 1 RSI in 35 or 358 came up. You may find some useful information there:

There is reference in that thread to some experience with JES Rebore in Oregon - but that is related to a rebore to 35 caliber.

Good luck with your project - I for one will be interested in where you end up. I'll share some photos at some point on the status of some of my re-barrel modifications of the M77 and the No. 1.
