My American Target shoots great. But on the bench I find the mag release a little awkward for reloading mags.

Can I use a 10/22 extended mag release or is a special one needed? It would make my life easier.

Thanks.

The extended mag release will require a ball hex key to tighten the front trigger guard down since a straight-on hex key won't work as the extension is in the way.

A 10/22 extended mag release does NOT work on a Ruger American Target .22 as the trigger guard is larger. The extended-release hits the trigger guard and can't be installed.
