Hi BIG OLD BOY,
I did a full spectrum test on the rifle shortly after it was announced.....and you're right it is really neat !
Just like the rest of the "Americans" the rifle is well balanced, ergonomically sculpted, has a great trigger that's adjustable,
and the guns are dead-nuts accurate !! Recoil is very mild (factory recoil pad perhaps ??)
Some "Factory" and reload results for your information (All shot @ 100 yards)
* Alexander Arms 123 Gr. (Lapua) ammo @ 2512 FPS, and put (4) shots into .575"
* Federal "Fusion" 120 Gr. S.P. ammo @ 2571 FPS, and put (4) shots into 1.1"
* Hornady "Match" 123 Gr. ELD-M ammo @ 2532 FPS, and put (4) shots into 1.1"
**Reloads**
* 85 Sierra HP w/H335 (Load development) (3 loads) @ 2932-302 FPS (4) shots ea. .650"-.750"
* 95 Gr. Hornady A-Max w/H335(Load development) (3 loads) @ 2834-2930 FPS (4) shots ea. .875"-1.25"
* 100 Gr. Hornady A-Max w/H335(Load development) (3 loads) @ 2731-2866 FPS (4) shots ea. .925"-1.1"
* 120 Gr. Hornady ELD-M w/CFE223 (Load development) (3 loads) @ 2568-2692 FPS (4) shots ea. .940"-1.1"
* 123 Gr. Hornady ELD-M w/CFE223 (Load development) (3 loads) @ 2525-2626 FPS (4) shots ea. .725"-.775"
You'll not be disappointed in a "Grendel" if you purchase one.....and it's hard to beat the price point for such an
accurate, reliable and just plain fun gun.
As a matter of fact I currently own (2) rimfire "American" and (6) Center-Fire, 204 Ruger/ 223 Rem/ 6MM Creedmoor/
6.5 Grendel/ 7.62X39 & 300 Win Mag............and they are all "BORING"......whatever you aim at ........You hit it !!
