I have a few Buck knives. They make a good product. I prefer fixed blades so here are some of mine.

Buck 119 3.jpg

Finally some photos. All three from the 1980's--I think. I'm thinking the bottom one is a 112 rather than a 110 but I don't know for sure. The middle 112 is mine--was my only lock back folder for a long long time. The top and bottom my uncle gave to me before he passed. The 119 has a maroon colored spacer in the guard and aluminum cap--pristine condition---I should use it on a hunt one of these days.

Bought the Buck Alpha folder for hunting and general carry a few years back. Got the 420 H.C. that came with a great edge. Heard they do a great job with 420

I still have my Buck General I bought in 1972 at the PX in Columbia, SC for the whopping price (to me at the time) of $21.
It's weird, Buck lists it now for $219, but most places are selling it for $99.

I'll take a Cutco hunting knife over any Buck knife. And I have. Once I got my Cutco, I sold the Buck and have zero regrets. Have yet to sharpen my Cutco and have butchered a ton of deer. With the Buck, I'm sharpening it multiple times per deer. By the way, the Cutco is so sharp and holds an edge so well that it has to be in a steel lined sheath.

I have had a Buck knife as long as I can remember. I still have three, my 301 is my everyday carry. I remember doing Search and Rescue in the Coast Guard, almost exclusively all crew members carried Buck 110s.

Over the years I've had several Bucks off and on.. Still have a couple, but not as many as Rugers. From skinners to 110's. All good knives. A little hard to get an edge on them because of the high 58 Rockwell, but once it's sharp it stays sharp for quite a while. For those that complain about them not taking an edge.. knowing how to sharpen a knife comes into question. Maybe a high carbon low Rockwell might be a better choice. Like an 'Old Timer'.. Just make sure it's treated with some sort of anti-rust protectant afterwards.

Watched a zombie horror flick last night and while a Z was trying to bite one of the guys, the heroine came up and stabbed him in the head with what appeared to be a Buck 110. So, it's not just firearms that are identifiable in the movies... ;):)
