Am I behind the times?

Help Support Ruger Forum:

It is interesting this question was asked. With all the discussion of the weather the past couple of weeks I kept seeing people using the degree symbol. I had no idea how to use it on my laptop & discussed that with my wife & 12 year old son. My son promptly did an online search & found instructions on how to do it. I forgot the instructions almost as fast as he gave them to me. If I want to use that symbol in the future I guess I'll do an online search first.

As for suicide, having spent a lot of time with people recovering from substance abuse issues I have known a few people that chose that path. I always considered it tragic. I was told that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

I often wonder about suicide. My religion forbids it. It is a sin. But if you confess the sin and ask forgiveness you will be granted grace.

So if I hang myself, and instantly regret it, and think God I'm sorry I did this. Will I be forgiven?

If I want to die and walk out onto the ice like an Eskimo to freeze or be eaten. Is that suicide?

A self inflicted bullet to the head is suicide, you caused your own death.

Aren't you also causing your own death if you smoke 2 packs a day? Don't manage your diabetes? IDK. 🤷‍♂️

I have always believed suicide should be legal and there should be assistance available. For those who choose it.

You can pull up an extended character (i.e. emojis and symbols) by pressing the windows key and the period simultaneously. Then choose the 5th option at the top of the page for symbols.

I've been using Windows for decades and I never knew this.

I was not joking. I worked too many "suicides" that were repeated attempts. The family goes through hell each time. Get it over with and let them move on

People often say that "multiple suicide attempts are just cries for help and the person really doesn't want to die". I had a friend in college who was a psych nurse. She had a patient who had tried to kill herself multiple times.

There was a gunshot through the roof of her mouth. Severe brain damage but not dead She then flung herself out of a fifth floor window. Drank a bottle of bleach. Mainlined ammonia. The patient was wheelchair bound in a psych hospital and managed to fling her chair down a flight of stairs and survived.

I don't think that this woman was going at it in a half backed attempt because she wanted help.

Used to be, blaming devils in the head for that level of insanity.
