My wife always took care of her horses (back when she had 'em ;^), so I always wondered what "rode hard & put away wet" looked like. After seeing this Ruger rimfire, I might have an idea:

Who knows, being a Ruger, it just might clean up, and (with a few replacement parts) still shoot ok!

Maybe should've mentioned that it's NOT my auction; it might be that the folks bidding have a spare stock to replace the one with the Rube Goldberg repairs, and maybe like to 'tinker' at repairing firearms. I have to wonder if the barrel & receiver are ok, given how the stock is broken - takes a lot of force to break a synthetic stock in two...

To some folks, a rifle is just another tool. I've seen $500-600 chainsaws sitting in the back of a pickup in pouring rain or covered with snow. Obviously the owner had little concern for the sizeable investment. Guns are no different.
I have rifles that 'live outside' dusty, bruised, and not very attractive BUT not abused-they look like that because it's their job to be within reach anytime/anywhere.
