The looting, burning, and general trashing. :x

As the city turned out to celebrate the Eagles' first NFL title since Dwight Eisenhower was president, the party was at times chaotic but no more so than many had predicted. Still, as the night wore on, property damage spread.

"This city is about to explode," said an officer stationed at Broad and Walnut Streets as the clock ran out in Minneapolis and masses poured into the streets of Philadelphia.

I do not watch football. It's like watching an episode of "America's Most Wanted."
However, isn't having to live in Philadelphia punishment enough?
So I imagine the citizens there know what their city is worth.

WOW! The Super Bowl brings out the haters almost as much as NASCAR and the Olympics do. Anyway, it was a great game, in a great city, between two great teams, with a very exciting finish. Very enjoyable to relax and enjoy friends and family while a great football game is going on and if you can't appreciate that, then I feel sorry for you. What some idiot fans do after the game has very little to do with anything. :D

Yes, the NFL showcases its haters of our country and of our Veterans, weekly.

Wondered when the spin would happen...The kneelers hate me and hate my country, but somehow it's still my fault.

You have every right to support these folks. But don't forget, I also have every right not to.

Don't feel sorry for me.

Wayno,

You are spot on.

I won't look the other way when players and league owners essentially spit on Veterans and America in general, but we should just go along with it...because 'the game is sacrosanct' but patriotism, Veterans and America, ppffftt who cares about it, them and the country?

It's the game that matters...my butt.

I wouldn't have watched it if you paid me, instead I had lunch with my wife and visited with my mother. I set boundaries and maintain them, the NFL is outside those boundaries. I wonder if the property owners who suffered loss appreciate the apathy of those who see them as collateral damage? After all it was a good game, right?

I agree

I did not watch it, over paid thugs who have no respect for our anthem and the folks who fought and died so those same thugs can play a so-called game .

Pretty much says it all.

Admittedly, we did watch it. We were glad they didn't pull their crap and seemed to be respectful. Maybe they're learning their lessons <yeah, right>.

Anyhow, it was quite chaotic here in Fishtown where I live. There was the impromptu fireworks and parade down Girard Ave. Lots of hooting (that's right, *not* looting) and hollering. No downed light posts or rolled cars here in this neighborhood. Just a lot of celebration.

I put in earplugs and went to sleep.
