Our local Academy sports store had 9mm Monarch brass 115 gr FMJ for $7.99 a box, 5 box max. Luckily, my daughter is now 21 so she could also buy 5 boxes. 500 rds ~ $80.00 I guess now that ammo is getting a little easier to find (although down here it was never exceptionally difficult) I am contributing to the 'shortage."

But at least I am more prepared for the zombies when they come!! :p :p

Good find.

But don't you know that 9mm is no good for zombies?

If you insist on using a semi auto handgun you need a .50 Desert Eagle.

Yes, I have shot a lot of this Monarch 9mm Brass shoots real good but is a dirty burn, yet cleans easily. The 380 and 223 Monarch are also good shooters.

Thay have both brass and the nonreloadable for the same price so make sure you specify which you want.

As to a 9mm not being good enough for zombies, remember to double tap them in the head! Since we will (by all conventional movie wisdom) have to hole up in the mall, if you limit their access points it makes this easier. I think we should hole up near the food court, maybe in Starbucks. We would have some access to food and plenty of double cappucinos to stay wire for the duration. Plus they tend to be smaller stores making them easier to defend (point #1). :p

Wow, thanks. I'll have to check it out tomorrow also. Just wish .380 would get more available.

Academy had Monarch 380 ammo last Thursday for $14.99 per box of 50

Fortunately, ammo has not been all that difficult to find for me locally.
.357 is tough, .38 spl is relatively easy to get, but 9mm is pretty readily available. I bought 10 boxes and there was at least 35-40 more. Never looked at .380 specifically but it seems to be around the the .357 inventory. 45 ACP is tough also. I am talking about the cheapo range stuff.
The expensive self-defense, or higher end ammo is almost always avail.

So, I don't feel too much like I am contributing to the 'shortage.' When you are down to the last 100 range and 50 self defense, you have to restock some time and at that price, I was not going to pass it up.

That's not what you posted. You seemed to imply that I cleaned out the shelves...which BTW were FULL of the ammo they are ADVERTISING in their flyers ON SALE.

Maybe YOU should get some more information before you start accusing others of contributing to the problem.
