? about old model Single Six

I recently purchased a old model Single Six, the subject of this post: http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=251231

I got to looking at it today, and the "Sturm, Ruger and Co. Inc." roll mark is on the TOP of the barrel. Shouldn't it be on the side?

I just checked a half-dozen OM Single-Sixes . . . the roll-mark is on the top on all of them.

OK, I was looking in the book Know Your Ruger Single Actions and the pics looked like they where on the side of the barrel, but they might have been Blackhawks. Thanks!
