This is a great way to fix yourself a nice hot meal in a hurry. Put a frozen Marie Calandar's chicken pot pie in the microwave in the box as instructed. When that's done put a can of Progresso "chicken pot pie soup" in the microwave in a safe container.

When the soup is heated, dump in the pot pie and mix it in with the soup. It seems the pot pie or the soup is never enough for me but when mixed together they make a great quick meal.

I get one of the rotisserie chickens from Sam's and strip all of the meat
off the bones as I get home. Take a hand full of the chicken, add to the
Progresso soup, plus either rice or noodles (which ever are left over) and
you have a really good meal.

The chicken pot pie always seems to need so much help.

Interesting.

Lots of times I want something to eat right now, but cooking isn't my thing.

My meager offering: Super Meals, (many different types of flavors) they come in a bucket with noodles and 2 packets of flavoring, add water, 3 minutes in the microwave and you're ready to eat.

Or, open a can of tuna, throw in some sweet relish, mix, throw that on some bread. Now, you've got a hearty tasty kinda messy sandwich.

Next suggestion!

Before I got married I used to get those chicken pot pies. I would usually just supplement them with a couple of bologna & cheese sandwiches. My other quick meal back then involved minor cooking. I would make fried egg & cheese sandwiches with mayonnaise. Sometimes I would add fried bologna-sometimes not.

I like to add a ramen noodle to a can of soup. Makes it more filling.

If taking it for lunch, bust up the ramen stuff it in a wide mouth thermos, pour in the hot soup. By lunch time the noodles will be soft and pretty much soak up all the broth.

Be sure to throw out the flavor package that comes with the ramen.

Put the pot pie over 90 second Uncle Ben's microwave rice. :D

ps. I prefer the Long Grain and Wild rice. :D :D

For those who might not be paying close attention, that means to open the can and dump the contents into the microwave-safe container and put that into the microwave.

If you put an unopened metal can into a microwave things will get interesting.

I made a fried Spam sandwich the other day........

Marie's are my favorite of the frozen pot pies.

I sometimes dump ramen noodles into the pot pie soup.

Mix one can of Sue Bee chicken and dumplings with one can cream of chicken soup. Microwave until hot.

This is what I do too. Cook the pot pie in the microwave, do the ramen noodles like the package says (but use half the water and no flavor pack). While the ramen soaks the pot pie heats up. Both get done at the same time. Combine and eat. I love it and my wife can't stand it.

What is this micro wave thing????

Never had one. My wife won't give up the space. When she tells other women she doesn't have one they always ask "how do you cook?" to which she replies "with fire." We have been offered dozens of free ones....

A quick cup of potatoe soup. Heat water with bacon bits and pieces in it, when hot add pepper, then stir in Idahoan fully loaded potatoe flakes til the desired consistency. Eat!

I like to buy a rotisserie chicken at the store and save the carcass either in the fridge or freezer to use for making a good chicken soup stock. Just boil up the carcass with some onions, carrots and cerlery and you have a great soup base. Strain it out, salvage the remaining chicken meat and toss it in a pot with a couple good sized handfuls of Kluski noodles. Makes a great chicken soup or stew depending on how much meat was left on the carcass.

If any of the French (the snooties of food) were to read this thread they'd faint.

Hey, a really good meal only take 3/4 hours of intense labor and a lot of shopping. So, what's the problem you lazy American slop eaters?

Not for me Monsieur food snoot.

Quick and hot is good enough.
