This was today. Yeah, boats are expensive to maintain and lots of headaches sometimes, but check out the smile on my son's face:

Check out my post 23. It doesn't have to be. Of course I hardly ever fished off that one. Even my current boat has less than $1,000 in it including a new top.(Not including fishing tackle) Of course if it makes quality time like that it's money well spent. I never even wanted a stinking boat until my 5 year old daughter got hooked on tubing. I would spend my weekend trying to bum rides with people willing to drag a 5 year old around behind their boat. One weekend she was crying because I couldn't find her a ride. After Church on Sunday we saw an old boat $500 obo. He took $400 and the rest is history.

That reminds me of 30 years ago when I would juggle 3-5 "Money Managers". They always ask what your goals are " College for the kids, Retirement" etc. I told them to make me money. That there's 2-4 other people trying to make me money and if they don't keep up they won't. That if my oldest Daughter wants to go to College she can go to College and if she doesn't go to College I'm getting a Boat. That if my Son wants to go to College he can go to College if he doesn't then I'm getting a bigger boat and that if my youngest Daughter wants to go to College she can go to College and if she doesn't I'm Retiring on the Bigger Boat.
