Replacing the water pump impellers is fairly easy. Like everything that says Marine part on them is too costly. Hvymax, good score on that boat. The main engine looks like about a 1998 model, the troller maybe 10 years or more older.
Both 1999 when it was repowered from the original 1972 engines. A little Seafoam and plugs along with the impellers and they are good as new!!! Monday I ran them for 14 hours trolling for Rockfish. Several hours on the 9.9 until the 3 gallon tank ran out. The 15 gallon main tank is good for about 70 miles.

Good score hvymax. I’m one of the those that started out with a plywood homemade boat 18 foot long with a 40 hp Atwater on it when I was a junior in high school.
Also, through high school and early college, a number of jon boats and metal bass boats with horsepower ranging from 5 to 70. When I joined the Navy and got married, my wife wanted to have something to play with so we got a Hobie cat with a rainbow sail. We had fun with that but I never really got the hang of sailing, so when we got divorced, she kept it. It didn’t hurt my feelings either. Since then I’ve had a number of bass boats, trihull Glasstron with a 70 hp and work my way up to a 191 cobia bay boat. I loved that boat and it was wonderful to fish from, but we ended up selling it to help my son finance his first house. Now I’ve come full circle and in my backyard as a brand new 20 foot Xpress H20 bay boat. And it hasn’t even gotten wet yet but it will weekend after next. Love boats and love the water but I even love more to spend time with my grandkids and kids with something that’s fun and enjoyable. I’ve got lots of pictures with boats in them and I hope to take many more.

I started with a $400 15' 1973 tri hull with a 70hp Johnson that had a mystery problem. When my 5yr old got hooked on tubing. Once I found the loose air housing bolt that kept wedging in the bottom reed valve after 15-20 minutes it was flogged mercilessly for 8 years trolling kids on ski's, tubes and boards. I welded up various apparatus for towing whatever they wanted. I don't think I spent over $1,000 on the boat before it sent a rod through the crank case. So far the cooler is the most expensive thing I've got for this one. I do have some peeling gel coat to deal with in one spot but it doesn't seem to be affecting the boat in any significant way.

Well guys, I did it. Sold my last real boat, an inflatable kayak. Still have the r/c sail boat tho'.

For the first time in my 60 year life I'm boat less!!!

I was probably conceived on a boat, dad's ole' 21ft mahogany inboard chris craft. Have never been without a boat since then till now.

21' Winniner i/o, Alcort sunfish, 16 lapestrake (my boat with my paper route money 6 hp 1976 johnson), "mud puddle" our 12ft childhood wood row boat, the 24' mcgreggor sail, and I think I forgot one.

They are wonder, freedom and heartache. Got to get another soon!! eye on an old wood penn yen 14" for now.

Had five boats in the past. Never went 6 months without owning one. Always was a fan of having a building to store them in, they last so much longer. Now I'm retired and this is my last boat, probably. Spent the money and got it outfitted for trolling, bass fishing, crabbing, fishing the ocean and of course, dragging the kids and there friends around on the innertube. As long as I can keep it nice and don't feal like it's degrading and use it once in awhile, I'm happy.

Hey, if you earn it you can spend it any way you want. I know I’ve spent several times the original purchase price on my Jeep. But the places I have gone and still go are well worth the money.

It also served as a teaching tool for two boys l, both of whom now own Jeeps.

But back to boats, my current one is a Perception fishing kayak. Strap it to the Jeep grab some tackle and I can be in the water in twenty minutes.

I’m on to my third boat so far. This is my 1977 Tartan 37. I have about 12 years until I retire, and then I’ll have to decide whether to move on to something newer as a retirement present or completely rehabilitation this one. Usually it’s cheaper to just buy a newer one.

My first boat was a canoe that I used to fish the reclamation ponds in southern Ohio. A lot of fun in those days. I still have a canoe today, but it takes a little longer to get in and out of it. My last boat with a motor was a 19‘ Champion bass boat with a 150 Mariner on it. That’s one boat I wish I had never sold. It was fast, fun and easy to fish out of.

Same here. It used to live on top of my truck. I had the canoe on one side ladders on the other. In the back I had toolboxes on one side and rod holders and tackle boxes on the other. My wife being a nurse I had 3 days a week and every other weekend free to fish or whatever I wanted to get into. I still have my 40 year old Coleman Ram X.
