"It's unclear why Master Sgt. Robin Brown, a public affairs officer with the Tennessee Air National Guard, recited her oath of re-enlistment last week using a dinosaur puppet.

Or why the colonel conducting the ceremony allowed her to do so, stifling his laughter as the puppet mouthed the oath.

But the two have been let go from the Guard after a video of the incident went viral, garnering about 2.4 million views on Facebook by Wednesday and upsetting many in the military community who felt Brown and the colonel's actions were disrespectful. Brown has been removed from her full-time job with the Tennessee Joint Public Affairs Office and the yet-to-be-identified colonel has been demoted and immediately retired, according to Army Maj. Gen. Terry Haston, the adjutant general for the Tennessee National Guard."

Disgusting and unreal- those are Obama era military people. We have a real problem folks.

Yes Sir Ugh to the 9th power..

And later today. Another Ugh inducing sight.

I saw a ultra chubby AF female in uniform walk from her POV to the chow hall without a hat on- a E-6, I believe.

About a 150 yards waddle with airmen all around her.

It may seem minor and priggish- but there seems to be a serious corrosion of basic military standards and discipline seeping under the door in our armed forces today.

Something is GD wrong.

Gee, you mean the military has standards? After all the queers and marshmallows that Obama and his ilk let in, I thought they tossed standards out the window..

Long ago and far away, there weren't any fat GI's below the rank of Colonel.

They should Court Martial all three of them. That is disgusting.

Well, it IS the National Guard.
Really? You have a problem with National Guardsman? My former Army National Guard Unit, the 29th Combat Aviation Brigade, just returned last week from a one year tour in Afghanistan. I personally was a Full Time National Guardsman. We were held to the same standards as the Regular Army and achieved it in 48 assemblies and a 14 day Annual Training per year. You have any idea who fly's the A-10? How about the C-5s? You have been watching way too many BS TV movies.
BTW, you didn't mention what branch you served in?

I enlisted as a cannoneer with the 196th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, Tennessee Nation Guard in 1955. I belonged to the Guard only briefly before going active duty Army. For two weeks at Ft. Stewart, Ga. we were soldiers, firing live HE 105 mm. My late, and very good friend, commanded the Tennessee Air National Guard at one time.

My neck hairs bristle up whenever I hear the National Guard denounced as "Weekend Warriors."

And, yes I took oaths, both NG and US Army. I don't think of them in a light manner!

Well let me tell you one thing. You damn sure don't want to screw up or break one of his airplanes from being stupid in my Son's Command which is Training Air Wing 4. He is probably the most easy going laid back person I know. Except when you have to sit on the wrong side of the desk because you screwed up. He has been known to make Grown Men cry as he chews their arsh out. He also tells quite a few that they are no longer needed in His Navy.

Now for all of you that made the comments about the National Guard.
My Lt. Col./ 06- Col. select, Daughter is full time Montana Air National Guard. Well she might disagree with you a we bit  It is a known fact that Guard Units have more experience than regular units.

I have to totally agree with that statement. My old unit, B Troop, 1st Squadron, 158th Cavalry, 29th Inf Div (L), Maryland Army National Guard, was the winner of the Army wide small unit readiness award way back in the early 1990s. The CO, my full time administrative Sergeant, and myself (First Sergeant) were presented the award by the Secretary of the Army at the Pentagon.
People that make lite of the National Guard are sadly uninformed. They could do a little research on that 29th Div, mentioned above, at a little resort named Omaha Beach on 6 June 1944.

Yeah, but they were the FNGs.
The Big Red One was there, too. And the 1st had already been through North Africa and Sicily.

And they took terrible losses. Once finally ashore the 29th turned right to Cherbourg and the 1st headed inland.

"Gee, you mean the military has standards?

That's the point we did- right, post Obama and his crew, not so much- the alternate lifestyle promotion among other things hurt esprit and damaged military standards and bearing.

I take the Constitution serious as do all of us here- and that puppet NCO and Officer disgusted and angered me.

It is a indicator that something in the forces needs to be fixed and fast.

I don't care where the video idiots came from its damn bad- all branches and areas of the military swore a oath to the Constitution. And need to respect it.

The need to sober up and realize it.

Not going to watch the video, already disgusted by the description of it. Couple of pukes, IMO, glad they got spanked.

Hi,

Years ago there was an annual "competition" between local Calif Air Natl Guard and regular USAF personnel. They did firing exercises, bombing exercises, dog fight simulations, all the fun stuff a fighter jockey might do on any given regular work day. Air Force had the new planes, Cal-ANG had old ones. USAF got their bums handed to 'em on plates time after time.

One story I read had it a young AF pilot was complaining: he didn't know how these old guys in creaky old "lo-tech" planes kept beating them. One old timer took him aside and said "Son, you've gotta remember: while your momma was changing your diapers, that old guy who just whupped on you was burning a lot of jet fuel in a little place called Viet Nam. Don't ever let him get a hold of YOUR plane, cuz he'll really show you something!"

Seems that's a good lesson for the NG detractors, too. I wouldn't be surprised if quite a lot of today' Guardsmen have far more combat experience than even their predecessors from SE Asia had.

And I'm glad to see the two perpetrators of this disgrace got tossed, as well.

Yes, VERY disrespectful and we can thank the Obamahdi for it. I wouldn't want that E-7 as an E-1 and that LTC......
Surprised to see the hostility towards the NG. It has long since ceased to be a haven for "legalized draft dodgers" and for too many Active Duty military personnel today "it's just a job."
