I had a date with two of my granddaughters, but Georgia's 16 year old sister decided to sleep in. I can't blame her as she gets up at 5am every day for school and has a job on the weekends. Georgia, 14, found out her Dad passed away a week ago Thursday. Let's just start out with a ride down to Buck-ee's in Adairsville, GA.
At 11am Sunday it was packed! I've stopped there before to get non-ethanol gas and once to get a good, but outrageously salty brisket sandwich. It was more of the same today, meaning absolutely nothing was that great. I asked Georgia how much $ she thought went thru this store in a day and she said thousands. I said hundreds of thousands if you count the 120 or so gas pumps.
We headed over to The Rock Garden in Calhoun, GA. It's behind a church and is Christian themed. Here's the website:
You can see better pics here ↑ ↑ ↑ than I could take of the beautiful castle like structures build with stones, shells, glass etc. There's even a creek with a mini waterfall. Here's some pics you won't see in the link:
With Georgia the trip wouldn't have been complete without a trip to her favorite pet store. She has 2 Budgie birds and wants about 20 more. She fell in love with this rabbit. Every kid in the store would be a little bit rougher with the rabbit than it wanted. Georgia has the Midas touch with little critters and the rabbit loved it. Normally after about 10 minutes I'm ready to move on, but not today--not under the circumstances. I watched her stroke that rabbit for a full hour. I know she wanted to take it home, but I wouldn't do that to her Mom.
Here she is just saying Awwww with how much this moment meant to her.
It wasn't until I was taking her home that I asked her how she was doing with the recent events. I won't post what she said, and that was that.
The day ended and she got out of my car. Like always I said: I love you, Georgia! And she says: I love you, PawPaw! When she opens the door to her home she turns, smiles and waves to me. That says it all. Did I mention just how deeply I love this precious girl?
I am so blessed...
